4th of July in Matthews!

Join the Town of Matthews as we celebrate the 4th of July.
Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. on the Village Green in front of the Matthews Town Hall Building. Come decorate your bikes, scooters, wagons, skateboards, etc. with patriotic items provided free by the Matthews Parks, Recreation and Cultural
Resources Department.

At 6 p.m. the People’s Parade gets underway. The nonmotorized parade begins at Town Hall and ends at Stumptown Park. There are many games and interactive activities for the entire family beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The night’s activities end with a free concert by Too Much Sylvia. The concert gets underway at 7 p.m.

The four man group, Too Much Sylvia, is well known on the East Coast for their musical renditions of hit music from the 60s to the 90s. A crowd pleasing group, they love for the audience to participate in their concerts.

July 4th surprises are planned throughout the evening so bring your lawn chairs, enjoy concessions by Carolina Burgers & BBQ, and all the evening’s fun.
