Did you know that when the Town of Matthews has their board meetings what is written in the town minutes is not the complete truth. I am currently going through a battle with the Town of Matthews and in my research I have found that what the Mayor or Board Members say has been changed or things are left out. So this way the Mayor and Board Members are able to cover themselves as to what they may have actually said. I think this is being dishonest with the people of Matthews. So, if you read the Matthews site to keep up with what is going on then you may not be getting the whole truth. Also the meetings are recorded but after the minutes are approved they tape over them. So there is no way to hear what was actually said.
Do you think this is fair to the people of Matthews or anyone reading the Matthews site?
The people of Matthews deserve to know what really is stated in the Town Meetings.
Should the Town of Matthews keep record of the meetings on tape and not record over past meetings?

Could it perhaps be that you are misremembering what was said? The Board meeting is taped and the minutes are typed directly from the recording.

Nope -- I even questioned Matthews about this and was told that they do not have to record everything. In what I am currently going through I have proof that Matthews does not record the meetings to truth. They record over the tapes after they have been typed and approved by the Mayor and Board Members. This way you can never request a recording of a past meeting and this way they cover themselves to things that have been said and agreed upon. My attorney agrees that the recordings should be available 24/7 of any year.
