YEA! We just got back from walking around Mint Hill Madness. We gave out all the coupons we had for $5 off at Toni and Jerrie's. We're going to print some more out and keep up the work. We DO hope to see you soon!

We have a variety show, ELVIS, Sinatra/Easy Listening, actually about 8 shows in all. There are usually 2 of us, but we can expand to 4. Visit our web site at www.KINGSHAZAAM.com for our schedule and playlists, etc. We absolutely have a blast! THANKS for the info - Toni and Jerrie's is at 2741 Old Monroe Road at the Stallings stoplight, beside the bank. We are doing a LAST CHANCE LUAU tonight at 7 PM. Come by and enjoy the good food & free show! And THANK YA! THANK YA VERY MUCH!

Jeff, what size is your group? What type of music do you play? Maybe next year for ArtFest you might be interested. There is music all day Saturday and Sunday afternoon. I can get the name of the guy who handles that for the committee. How can I get more info about your group? Where is Toni and Jerrie's?

We have some success with coupons for the restaurant we sing at, Toni and Jerrie's, but they have to be given out personally. Even mailboxes don't work. ArtFest sounds like a good idea!

I thought customers were really interested in saving money, but coupon efforts through Carolina MoneySaver, WelcomeMat Services, and ValPak are just not bringing in the new faces. I think it is a lot of face time and as Regina said below, keeping in touch with your current customers. Hopefully they come back and tell two friends, who tell two friends, etc... Hope everyone has a chance to attend ArtFest this weekend in Matthews! and then come to FastFrame to frame and take care of your items!

We've been using Facebook, MySpace, and the internet a lot, but going to restaurants, park festivals, and any other way we can meet people is pretty good, too. We do some shows gratis so we can give out our information, and old fashioned phone calling works for booking Senior Citizens Homes for us. It's not like calling private numbers, since the Retirement Homes' activities directors often actually need entertainers. Having a consistent place for people to see us helps more than I can say. Our standing shows on Thursdays and Saturdays at Toni and Jerrie's makes it easy for people to come and see us and find out what we sound like. Staying in touch with our regulars through email helps, too. We try to send out reminders every week or so. It's good to hear from some of the others here - are the luncheons still happening at Beantown?

You're are invited to a free Tradebank Business Networking Luncheon - 11:30 am on Tuesday April 21st at Beantown Tavern here in Matthews.

These meetings are not only fantastic for networking with other business owners, they're great ways for those who are interested in finding out more about Tradebank. Lunch will be provided.

Learn how to conserve cash and increase profits through barter/trade! Bring plenty of business cards. I'll be there around 10am for anyone who would like a brief overview before the meeting. Vicki Carnes 704 219-2707 or vcarnes@tbcharlotte.com. We'll see you there! Vc

For my music school I find our website is our best means of advertising. I also use Google Adwords and Yahoo! Search Marketing. Print advertising doesn't work nearly as well for us.
I keep in touch with all the families at the Academy via monthly e newsletters (Constant Contact) and usually include a coupon or a reminder of our referral incentive program.
Sites like iMatthews, facebook, and yelp are great for connecting with other people who may have valuable advice, or to continue to reach new customers.
My next step is to join the Chamber, and have the Academy become more involved in local events.

"What ways are you finding effective to get the word out about your business?"

I use my website and search engines pick up the information. If not for the internet, it would be much harder.

Blogs are also a good idea but you need to keep fresh content.
