Getting An Education

My 6-year-old, Olivia "Livvie" Parker, has been introduced to fund raising for her school and has enthusiastically embraced the sales role. She's even had her first rejections and I've helped her understand the numbers game sales can be. "Not everyone wants to buy that day," I say, "but some do. You have to find them. You won't find them if you stop." You can imagine the wheels turning in her head. She was plotting out the entire neighborhood last night. And I'd like to help.

I'm not going to ask my online community (offline network get out your checkbooks) to buy wrapping paper or chocolates or some other items at http://www.sallyfoster.com using her id of 409828. I'll show you the way, but I'm not going to ask ;)

No I prefer a much softer sell. One that costs so little and gives so much! One that helps you "be green" and recycle some of that garbage your household produces every day. On the back of select products (http://www.boxtops4education.com/Image.aspx?id=2164) in your refrigerator or cupboard, there is a little logo that looks like the image below her picture. This logo sits inside a small coupon on these products and the schools can use these coupons to cash them in for money for their various education programs.

Look familiar? Excited that you now have something to do with those Box Top coupons? Well awesome! This can be a long term giving adventure for you! Olivia just started 1st grade. This program runs through 8th grade. If the thought of helping out a school system, building a child's self-esteem, teaching about the spirit of random acts of kindness, instilling a sense of community, and helping to save the planet all through clipping some Box Top coupons and dropping in the mail appeals to you, then by all means start collecting.
