Business Consumes Me!! (But that's a good thing!)

I LOVE to read! For the last 18 months I have read marketing and sales books almost exclusively (I'm sure that bores a lot of you!). But I have always enjoyed "how to" books and any reading material that may help me to improve myself. Sadly I even enjoy reading about tax laws and updates (you can take the girl out of accounting, but you can't take the accounting out of the girl!).

Some of the books I have read and thought were very helpful -
"Little Red Book Of Sales Answers" by Jeffrey Gitomer
"Ogilvy on Advertising" by David Ogilvy
"101 Ways To Promote Yourself" by Raleigh Pinkskey
"Off-The-Wall Marketing Ideas" by Nancy Michaels & Debbi J. Karpowicz
"101 Ways To Market Your Business" by Andrew Griffiths
"The Sales Bible" by Jeffrey Gitomer

I am currently reading "Small Giants: Companies that Choose to be Great Instead of Big" by Bo Burlingham.

I recently finished "Deep Economy: The Wealth of Communities and the Durable Future" by Bill McKibben. If you are looking for some inspiration to help build and support the local Matthews economy, Bill McKibben is the man.

I do some "pleasure" reading as well and last weekend read the classic "A Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. Amazingly timely although it was written in 1932. Huxley was George Orwell's teacher at Eton...

Up next:

The Small-Mart Revolution: How Local Businesses are Beating the Global Competition" by Michael Shuman.

These sound like terrific books. I will definitely consider reading one or all of them. Thanks Darryl!
