Hello. My name is Logan Hedges and I am the publisher of Drivebycritic.com. For the past two years I have done reveiws for Art, Wine and Food here locally. My focus has seemed to always revolve around Matthews because of my love of our fine town. I reside in Union county, outside the city limits, but I "Live" in Matthews. This year I have added Food articles from Adam Reed of Sante, Wine Stories from local Somelier Joe Barsin of the Matthews Total Wine store, and book reviews from Michele Todd, a National Board certified media and information specialist from the Union county public school system. My Grandson's name is Jonathan. Every time we drive past Jonathan's Restaurant on
Independence Pointe Parkway, my Jon says "There's my restaurant. Can we go there?"

We have personally been to Jonathan's many times since they changed ownership from the Tryon House. Also, the business marketing group I belong to - CBN - meets there every Tuesday morning over breakfast.
A lot of the food is "comfort" food and there is a good variety of specials daily. I've had an excellent steak dinner there, too. Breakfast is very reasonable and the food is usually served quickly. Our networking group gets very good service, too.
If you have children, I recommend that you ask for a booth by the big windows overlooking the pond. There are many birds in and around the pond and kids of all ages enjoy watching them.
I recommend you try Jonathan's. It is not fine dining, but you can get a good meal at a reasonable price.

I am sorry Irene, but I have not yet had the opportunity to try the fare at Jonathans Restaurant at Independence point. I will endeavor to try it some time soon and let you know what I think.
